Press Release: American Precision Products Wins Government Contract to Develop Lighter, Portable X-ray, Panel

American Precision Products announces today they have won a contract from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the US Government to design and prototype new lighter X-ray panels for portable x-ray equipment.

The panels are used in the field to X-Ray large objects. By stacking and connecting panels, objects such as automobiles or cargo containers can be X-rayed quickly in the field.

American Precision Products will design improved panels that will be significantly lighter and easier to use than the current panels. Upon design and first article completion fifty production panels will be delivered to the government for testing.

American Precision Products is pleased to be participating in projects that may very well benefit homeland security operations. This new project fits our capabilities exactly, combining our design and manufacturing abilities. Because we are familiar with (and have in-house) such a variety of manufacturing processes we will be able to select the most practical and economical solution for the government.

American Precision Products is a family owned small business, operating in Hunstville, Alabama since 1973. We specialize in custom molding of plastics and rubber. Approximately 40% of business is government and aerospace while the remaining is a variety of commercial contracts.
