Prototypes for Injection Molding

Prototype tools are can produce hundreds of parts and can enable a range of materials can be tested. Prototyped parts provide the actual look and feel of the finished product. Their physical properties and appearance closely match that of a production part.

Reasons to investigate services for prototyping:

  • Mating parts (i.e., two case halves, lids, etc.)
  • Parts with Critical Dimension
  • Cosmetic Appearance or Color Matching
  • Parts with Critical Properties (Physical or other that must meet specifications or materials with additives.)
  • Parts that Include Mechanical Devices (such as snaplocks)
  • Parts Requiring Expensive or Exotic materials
  • Parts that must meet production quality for testing or approval (UL, FDA, etc.) prior to production.

If you need to fine-tune a design, it is much more cost effective to do it at the prototype stage.
